Scrapbook Cuties

Hey there,

It’s time for another Design Team project for The Cutting Cafe.

On this occassion, Regina the shops owner, asked us to use the file – 2019 folded calender available here-:

We could use it in any way, so I used it on a scrapbook page, and here it is-:

I couldn’t resist using these pictures of my grand babies at Christmas, and what a perfect way to incorporate the December calender page.

Now don’t forget to head on over to The Cutting Cafe blog, and see all of the Design Teams projects, there is always fabulous projects and loads of inspiration on offer, not to mention the chance to win free files each month.

Ta ta for now and happy crafting xx

Art Boards

Morning all, hows it going?

I thought I would share another Art Board creation with you, just to show how easy they are to use.

As they are made from MDF, you can paint them or even stick your paper directly onto them, the choice is yours. They are also a great alternative to sending cards.

This is the result of me having a little me time-:

Hope you like it:)

See you next time folks and happy crafting xx

Winner Winner

Good Morning peeps:)

A few week ago I watched a Facebook live with The Dreamees. They do one every week, and whatever they create during the live, they then give away, via a draw the following day.

Guess who’s name was pulled out of the cup…… MINE 🙂

Here is what was made using a small art board:-

It was lovely to receive Hapy Mail for a change. What have you been creating lately? I hope you have been enjoying it whatever they are.

Happy Crafting folks xx

Mothers Day Gifts

Morning world,

Kim here, just dropping by to see what you are all up to?

I have been making some smelly things again… lovely smelling things that is! With Mothers Day at the end of March in the UK, I thought I would make up a few batches of bath bombs, in the hope of selling them as a gift.

I still have 7 large champagne glasses, from when I supplied a shop with products, and thought it was high time I put them to use.

This is what they look like, sorry about the reflection, this is one photo that would of been better taken in the evening I think.

Anyhoo. I made around 100 bath bombs in 8 fragrances, so needless to say I have a few for my bathroom too.

The large bath bombs are individually wrapped, and the glass holds 8 bath bombs, so 1 of each fragrance. The small ones are simply to fill in the gaps.

I’m sure there are some mums out there who would love a gift like this, I know getting a relaxing bath without interuption is a gift in itself, but add a bath bomb into the mix and what’s not to love:)

Until next time… Happy Crafting xx

Land of Soap & Glory

Hey there, how you all been?

I have been a little side tracked from my usual crafting, but crafting non the less. Instead of making papercrafts, I have been restocking my soap supply.

I realised I was very low on my homemade soap, down to the last bar in fact, that I had to crack on and get creative. This meant that I would have to actually buy soap… from the shop!! Something I have made for the last 9 years, I was actually going to have to buy:((

Oh well needs must. I soon got my butt in gear and made 10 whole soap loaves, giving me 120 bars. Don’t think I will run out in a hurry, now to wait at least 4 weeks for it to cure properly.

Here are the loaves that I made…

When cut up these loaves will be set in a cupboard to cure for at least a moth before use, basically the extra moisture in them will dry out, making them a harder bar, that doesn’t disintegrate in the tub.

On another note, the kitchen smelt heavenly for a few days, and not because of cakes been baked :)).

Until next time…Carry on crafting folks xx

Mixed Media

Hi Guys :))

Well, today I will share something I made for a swap, in the Dreamees, facebook group. When you join their swaps, you have to create either a card, or alter one of their MDF pieces.

I decided to use one of the artboards that you can buy on their website-:

Wanting to get out of my comfort zone, I decided to try a little vintage/mixed media kind of look, so used black, sepia and copper colours, to try to create what I was envisioning.

What do you think? I’m quite happy with it, although my photography skills need work, as you cannot see the copper paint that was dry brushed over it.

Leave a comment and let me know what you think. I would love to hear from you.

Happy crafting folks xx

Popcorn Anyone

It’s almost the 7th of the month and you know what that means….. Design Team project!

Yes every month on the 7th and 21st, I create something, using files from The Cutting Cafe. These files come in a variety of formats, including PDF and SVG, so even if you have no cutting machine, you can just print and cut, that’s where I started.

Anyhoo, this month Regina, (the owner) asked us to use the popcorn box for our project. Soooo here is my offering this time, I hope you like it.

Popcorn box template-:

March is the month of Mothers Day here in the UK, so I have created a small gift and card for the occassion. I also used the Push Pop Container available here-: & the Sucker Treat Cups files here-:

The popcorn box was stamped using painted harvest stamp set from Stampin Up, and the card was made using stamps and dies from Dreamees.

Dreamees products-:

Now as my own mum is no longer with us, I have decided to make another identical gift like this, to give to my daughter and daughter-in-law this mothers day, it is their first after all. :))

Well thats all for now, & don’t forget to head on over to The Cutting Cafe Blog, or visit the online store. I’m sure you will find something to tickle those crafty tastebuds.

Ta Ta for now xx

Scrap Cards

Evening folks.

Just stopping by with a quick project share for you.

I’m sharing a card I recently made, with the intention of using up some strips of white cardstock that I had milling around the place.

I also wanted to have a play with my newly purchased Opal Polish collection, from Cosmic Shimmer. The colours are beautiful, and the polish is a dream to work with. Just smooth over your white cardstock, and you have created opulent, pearlescent cardstock.

Here is what I made-:

I couldn’t resist placing the squares onto a black backdrop, but not before stamping onto them using silhouette style stamps from Hunkdory.

Love how it turned out.

Quick tip ** before stamping your image, lay squares face down and tape together using low tack tape. When you turn it over you can stamp your image/scene as usual, remove tape when finished. Piece squares back together on black cardstock, this will allow for the colours to really stand out.

Well that’s it for tonight’s post, hope you like my creation, and use of scraps!

Carry on crafting folks, see you next time xx

Embellishments Everywhere

Hi there peeps, hope your all well & getting to craft lots.

I have been playing around trying to make embellishments just lately, and I often struggle to break the style cycle. I love to play and create anything feminine and shabby chic ish. However as I have lots of small pieces of bright coloured cardstock, I wanted to try and create some fun embellishments for a change.

Please bare in mind that this was a major challenge for me, and as I snoop around the internet for inspiration I am in awe of the creations that so many crafters make.

Ok so I didn’t manage to stay with just bright and beautiful embellishments, but I am happy with what I have created. I pulled out some punches and dies and got to work, I used stamped and digital images that I already had in my scrap pile, such as the tiny camera and ticket, but these embellishments were all created from the offcuts of paper that we refuse to throw away.

I hope I have inspired you to try and create some embellishments for yourself, think of the extra cash you could be saving, by not buying them from the store.

On the plus side, you have used up a few more scraps, that would otherwise sit in a pile for months, before ending up in the bin.

Until next time….. Happy Crafting my friends xx
