Scrapbook those Photos

Hi there everyone.

Just dropping by to share another scrapbook page that I recently created. I am determined to get every photo I own into albums this year, so please bear with me, but I’m on a mission.

Let’s scrapbook those photos!!

Of course I have started to work my way through the thousands of photos we store on our phones, I just dont see the point of them taking up my memory. Plus most of the photographs are of my grandkids, so the old creative juices are flowing well.

Now admittedly this little boy is almost one year old now, but these photos still needed to be documented, so I used scraps of patterned paper to make the flags on the page.

A nice use of scraps, and a lovely colourful page for my album.

Hope you like it and I will be back soon with more scrapbook pages for you to have a browse at.

See you all again soon folks, ta ta for now xx

DT Project Time

Morning all, it’s Design Team project time again.

As a member of The Cutting Cafe design team, I am required to create items, using the designated cutting file, chosen by the shops owner Regina.

These projects are showcased on the store blog on the 7th and 21st of each month, and each month you can guarantee that all design team members, will create wonderful and unique items, using the file provided.

This time around we were asked to create projects using the paper lace file available here-: https://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/paper-lace/

I decided to use it as a background in a box frame, just to show how it could easily be used in home decor projects. It could easily be cut in a larger size to create a background on a scrapbook. Either way, it is an extremely versatile file, as this is just one of the items in the file.

Along with the paper lace alphabet background, I threw in a few flowers and other bits and bobs from my stash, to create a lovely heartfelt gift for a friend.

I do hope you like my creation and leave me a comment, I love to hear feedback on my projects.

Don’t forget to visit The Cutting Cafe Blog, to see what the rest of the design team have been creating using this file. You will always find a diverse collection of projects, even though we have all used the same file.

Until next time… Happy Crafting xx

P.S Sorry about the lighting and shadows, had to take in the evening so natural daylight was not available. Darn sunshine, how very dare it retire for the night when I still have photos to take. (LMAO)

Sweet Stuff

Hi there, just a quick post to share a little of what I have been up to.

Nothing super duper exciting, but I am trying my hand at scrapbooking. Now while I do not claim to be a professional at these things, I firmly believe there is no wrong or right way to be creative. Just go with the flow, and if your happy…. that’s all there is to it.

This is an attempt to scrap a few pictures of my grand daughter.

Love this page, it’s bright and lively, just like this little munckin.

Please feel free to leave a comment, and I hope I have inspired you to create your own pages.

Ta ta for now and happy crafting xx

Embellishment Heaven

Hey there 🙂

Just popping by with a quick post to share what I’ve been making this week.

Not a lot really, welllll, that depends on how you look at it. You see I have been creating more embellishments, and die cut images to create even more embellishments.

WHY? I hear you ask. Simple really, I will be selling some of my handmade items on etsy in the next few weeks, and as I enjoy making embellishments, I figured maybe somebody might like to buy them.

Along with card kits that I’m currently putting together, planners and a few other items. It all depends what I feel like making, but I can’t keep everything I make, so I may as well try to sell it for a small profit, just so that I can carry on enjoying what I do.

Here are a few of the things I have been working on, hope you like them.

I recently purchased the We R Memory Keepers mini envelope punchboard, and I have to be honest….. I love it!! It was used to create the mini file folders above, now how cute are these :)).

So until next time… do what makes you happy xx

Coffee Anyone?

Hey there, how are we all doing?

Today I bring you another Design Team project, for The Cutting Cafe, which was to include any of the coffee or tea files.

I created a mug cosy and mug mat.(coaster to most folk). Here is the finished result-:

Firstly I printed the coffee bean background onto a sheet of Avery fabric transfer paper. Here’s the file for the background-: https://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2010/02/coffee-beans-background-set.html This then irons onto your chosen fabric, leaving the pattern behind. Pretty cool stuff!

I then stamped the coffee cup and coloured it, using Stazon Ink and spectrum noir markers. I read somewhere that if you heat set the inks it makes them permanent on your fabric, so, out with the iron again, and hope that it works.

The coffee cup that is sewn onto the coaster is the Coffee Cup template 2, and was made using this file as a template, https://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2013/04/coffee-cup-shaped-card-2-template-cutting-file.html and some fabric scraps.

As you can see I’m not an expert when it comes to sewing… I rush too much.

Anyway the letters were also printed onto the fabric transfer sheet and then ironed onto plain white cotton. This was done so that I could attach each letter in an offset patchwork look, which turned out quite well I think.

The finishing touch was the button. I used the previously used coffee cup stamp, onto shrink plastic using a stazon ink pad, followed by watercolour pencils to add some colour to it. If you use this technique to create buttons, don’t forget to punch 2 holes for you to sew it onto your item.

so cute

I’m also entering this into the 2019 spring/summer coffee lovers blog hop, something new for me, but I need to start somewhere. Check it out, here’s the link-: http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2019/05/2019-spring-summer-coffee-lovers-blog-hop-2/?fbclid=IwAR1AlUQ1iVOP-osZ_lqFXMCG4-WY59KgxkB5OfKH5CbP7Aey40cCXqMSEuU.

There’s a lot of prizes on offer, plus more people to see your creations.

Well that’s it for today’s post, I do hope you like my creation, and don’t forget to pop on over to The Cutting Cafe to find a plethora of inspiration, not to mention a whole new world of both printable and cutting files at your fingertips.

Think it’s time for a coffee and a slice of that birthday cake you can see in the background :))

So ta ta for now & happy crafting xx

Swap Goodies

Just a super quick post today, to share some embellishments I have been working on for a recent swap over on Facebook.

We had to make 40 embellishments for our partners, in any themes we chose. So naturally I had to join in…. I love to make embellishments.

Here’s a few of what I created-:

And heres a shot of them all packaged up-:

I would like to think that the recipient will like them all, as I know I would love to receive something like this.

Well back to crafting for me, need to get some more scrapbook pages made, not to mention create a few more embellishments, (maybe some to sell on Etsy?) Watch this space:))

Until next time… Happy crafting xx

Cheeky Chops

OK! So I have been scrapping a whole lot just lately, so you are pre-warned on today’s post.

I could apologise for inundating you with all these baby photo’s, but who’s kidding who? We all love to share pictures of our grandchildren, and I am no exception.

They have the remarkable ability to raise a smile on some of the darkest days of our lives, and I want to be able to hold that memory, and make it available for all my friends and family to share it too.

So these are the latest pages I have created,

Just need to add some journaling 🙂

Fond memories (grinning from ear to ear).

Thanks for checking out my blog, and feel free to leave a comment, it’s always nice to hear from folk.

Carry on crafting folks xx

Sleeping Unicorn

Hi all :))

Just a quick post to showcase this weeks project for The Cutting Cafe.

This week we could work with any file we wanted, so I used the Mask template, available here-: https://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/mask-template/

Here is how the file cut out from card, before I used it as a pattern for a sleep mask.

Now here it is after I worked a bit of magic, and added a hint of imagination to it.

Don’t you just love it? I do, it’s so cute!! Not to mention perfect for those days when you have migraine and the light hurts your eyes. Believe me when I say, that this is going to be very useful.

The fabric used was a satin lining fabric, (cheap as chips), with a double layer of fusible fleece for the lining. A little handstitching for the eyes, along with handmade flowers, makes it pretty sweet if I do say so myself.

Although if I should make another like this, I would probably buy some strung sequins to add on, instead of hand sewing them individually. I had almost finished the row before I got to grips with them.

Well I hope you like todays project. I think it shows that The Cutting Cafe files really are versatile, and not limited to papercrafts. Now head on over to the website and check out the rest of the design teams projects.

I’m sure you will be inspired, so until next time…. Happy crafting xx.

Scrapbooking Anyone

I recently started to TRY and scrapbook some of my many photos, that are stored on my phone and laptop. This is not an easy task when you have an husband who always seems to have his camera at the ready.

In fact, while I only had a few hundred stored on my phone, my husband had around 1300!! WOW, how has he taken so many pictures? And guess what? That’s only the ones of our 2 grand children, who are only 9 month old. Imagine how many more we will have by the time they are 1 year old.

So here are a few pages I have put together, to at least make a start on storing those memories in a more accessible way.

I think they look pretty good, especially as I don’t class myself as a scrap booker, but I do think it’s a lovely way to store your memories. Plus I like to add a piece of hand written journalling, with information about the photos. One day I might not be able to remember, or I won’t be here to tell the story behind the picture.

In all honesty, who ever gets their laptop or phones out to look at photos they have taken? It’s so much nicer to look at photos in an album, and read a little piece of journalling about that day, that memory.

So that’s what I have been up to, what crafty things are you making up at the moment? Whatever you are doing at present, have a fabulous day:)

Easter Project

Hey all, how are we doing?

Just a quick post today, with my project for The Cutting Cafe.

On the 7th & 21st of every month, the design team create projects using specific files from the online shop. This time round we were asked to use any Easter cutting files, so I chose the round easter basket, and the skinny tube bunny box. Below is a link to both files-:

https://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2015/03/skinny-tube-bunny-box-template-and-cutting-file.html.https://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2015/03/round-easter-basket-set-template-and-cutting-file.html

The Easter card was made using a sentiment from the Easter Greeting Inside & Out set, and here is the link-: https://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2010/02/happy-easter-inside-and-out-greetingsprintable-stamps.html.

Perfect to fill with a chocolate egg and other easter treats, however I can’t guarantee that this basket of goodies will last that long:))

Now pop on over to The Cutting Cafe, and check out the amazing files that are on offer. You can view projects from other design team members, and you could even be in with a chance to win some free files!

So what are you waiting for? Head on over there today.

Well that’s all for now, so until I blog again…. Happy Crafting folks xx
